NOAA Issues Lake Erie Algae Forecast

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, has issued its forecast for this year’s algal bloom in Lake Erie – and it’s not good news.

NOAA predicts a larger than usual bloom, likely 7.5 on the 10-point severity scale – “significant,” in their terms, and at the level that may be harmful to aquatic life, ecosystems, and even threaten drinking water.
